Microsoft silently changed the hardware requirements for windows phone 7operating system. The new spec will allow hardware makers to bring windows phone 7 powered mobile phones with out cameras.
It looks like Microsoft Plans for cheaper hardware’s that will be backed by windows phone 7. This Microsoft move allows handset makers to make low-cost smartphones. That certainly would be appealing to Microsoft’s hardware partners, who want to hawk smartphones in new and developing markets that are sensitive to price.
The Windows Phone specifications ensure that every Windows Phone has a consistent set of features that customers can rely on. - A common set of hardware controls and buttons that include the Start, Search, and Back buttons.
- A large WVGA (800 x 480) format display capable of rendering most web content in full-page width and displaying movies in widescreen.
- Capacitive 4-point multi-touch screens for quick, simple control of the phone and its features.
- Support for data connectivity using cellular networks and Wi-Fi.
- 256 MB (or more) of RAM and 8 GB (or more) of flash storage.
