How To Upgrade To Ubuntu 12.04 Precise Pangolin

Ubuntu releasing new version of their platform every six months.Presently Ubuntu 11.10 is the latest stable release and Ubuntu 12.04 Precise Pangolin is in beta stage but within one month canonical will push out Ubuntu 12.04 Precise Pangolin stable version and it will become the next mainstream version will be Ubuntu linux operating system.Canonical will release Ubuntu 12.04 Precise Pangolin stable version this April 26th.

Your personal information is most valuable thing on your computer so please make sure you have backed up all your data to a safe place before starting the upgrade procedure.I think better take backup to any external hard disc or USB drive and Make sure you are connected to internet when trying upgrade.
Step 1: Press Alt+F2 to open the Run Application and type in update-manager -d
Step 2: Then click on check button for new updates.
Step 3: Once you find updates,select it and please click on install updates.
Most of the linux users are know how to operate the terminal.If you are comfortable with terminal then open the terminal window and execute the following command to upgrade to Ubuntu 12.04 Precise Pangolin.
If you are on any Ubuntu server platform then you must confirm your system have the update manager core package installed.If you found the package is not installed on your Ubuntu server platform please do it by executing the command
Step 1 : sudo apt-get install update-manager-core
Step 2 : Now Edit /etc/update-manager/release-upgrades
Step 3 : Go to the terminal and execute the upgrade command below and follow on screen instructions.
sudo do-release-upgrade -d
Ubuntu 12.04 Precise Pangolin is still in beta stage, so bugs will be there! please don’t upgrade if you are on any production environment.
