5 Good Reasons Why You Upgrade To Windows 8
The re-imagined and reinvented Windows – Windows 8 is all set for the final release this October. The metro or rather modern-style touch interface is approaching for a fast and fluid touch browsing experience. But there are speculations that it may or may not give you what you are looking for.
Hence some of us can have our reasons why we should not upgrade. But at the same time I have some points which explain why you should upgrade to windows 8.
Touch gestured all new interface
Those who like style and simplicity would definitely be attracted, towards new metro (modern) style of colourful and more interactive interface. Today when everybody is talking about cloud technology, which is actually a concept of networking, to store remotely and avail everything you wish, from anywhere you want and that too on any device. This is the beauty with Windows 8, wherever you are, once you are logged on using your Microsoft ID, you can access all your applications, preferences, language settings, data everything sitting anywhere and using anybody’s system. One big advantage I can see here is, when you want to change your machine there is no reestablishment of published or import of data is required. Life becomes more networked yet simple with this synchronization of cloud technology with Windows 8.
Improved file management
If you are transferring a file on Windows 8, it will pop up a graph showing transfer speed and regularly updated completion state. One new feature added is pausing of file transfer which was not available in previous versions. Also multiple file transfers are not spawned in individual file transfer windows anymore. File History is more open and easy to handle now. You can store the changed files at different locations and prevent it from any malicious content changing it by restoring the previous versions. File history is a helpful tool which regularly scans all files locations like libraries, desktop, favourites and contacts to identify any wanted or unwanted changes.
Good news for avid readers is that with Windows 8, you can read pdf documents in a reader app, and there is no need to install a third party program.
Storage
With use of ReFS (Resilient file system) Windows 8 will be replacing old NTFS file system. It will help in virtual space pooling i.e. now multiple hard drives will be attached and will be considered as a single volume. So if you run out of space any time you will be able to add more drives to the same pool. This pool will have a separate drive name. Point to be noted here is that, the new file system upgrade will not be a part of the main client build of Windows 8 and for most people NTFS will work decently.
Cheap upgrade
Of course, how can I forget to mention that till next January, Microsoft is offering the upgrade to Windows 8, at a price of approximately $40? So if you are giving the upgrade a thought, at least you don’t have to worry about the cost.
Apart from above covered areas, there is lot which Windows 8 promises but why do you use your device will decide, whether you would like to upgrade it or not. Like, if you need windows for mere content management then you may stick to your previous version. If you are looking for better storage, better file system and hardware support, fast and fluid touch experience on cloud then it is worth trying and that too on cheap price.
