Experience Features Of Windows 8 Without Installing It
|Windows 8 came out this week, and till now we have been hearing great reviews about it. But in case you don’t want to try it right now, or not try it at all; here is a list of some tweaks and third party applications that will make your existing version of Windows – XP, Vista and 7 as alluring and powerful as Windows 8.
Windows 8 Looks and UI
You don’t really need to bother installing Windows 8, if all you want from it is its Metro UI and glassy aero interface. Head over to http://windows-8-pack.en.softonic.com/ , scroll down to the bottom and download and install the Transformation Pack. You don’t have to configure each and every settings, in fact only moving forward at every step will successfully get this pack installed.
Have you every tried Microsoft Office 2007 or above? If yes, you must have noticed the ribbon feature at the menu tab. In Windows 8, Microsoft has integrated the ribbon feature with the explorer itself, to get this feature; you will need BExplorer (Better Explorer). It’s free software and will help you bring the tabbed interface.

Accelerate your computer’s speed
As the time goes by, your computer loses the response speed it had during the days of its inception. Here are the following things you can do that will help your computer regain its speed and work to its full potentials:
Don’t let any program cripple system’s memory
Apart from this, there are many more Windows features that you never use and can be turned off to free some storage space of your hard drive as well as memory.
You can refer to the hidden ways to speed up your computer and learn ample of ways of boosting your PC by disabling and manually configuring a few more features and services.
The task manager in windows 8 has advanced its predecessors; it’s more powerful, gives more information about the running processes, and tells about the origin of processes. Obviously, the task manager we have doesn’t give us so such power. Here is a free, yet strong alternative, Process Explorer (http://www.filehippo.com/download_process_explorer/ ). Interestingly, the creator of this application too is Microsoft.
Set your priorities; go ‘apps’ over programs
In windows 8, Microsoft has shown its future plans of moving and processing most of its user functionality over cloud. Unfortunately, such features are nowhere to be found in its previous versions.
Using, this incredible service known as, Spoon (www.spoon.net) you can access thousands of your favorite programs including Skype, VLC, Chrome, Mozilla Firefox, Photoshop right from this apps installer. Download and install this app, and set the programs you want to run from the cloud. Once installed, you won’t need to download or install any other program.
Remove any application in single click
One of the coolest features of Windows 8 that I liked is the new option they have rolled out that lets you uninstall any program in one click. For doing the similar job, you will require a freeware named, Uninstaller Ultra.
Delete unnecessary file
Remember how every time you delete a file a dialogue box appears confirming if you really wanted to delete the file. The good news is, in Windows 8 we don’t have to bother such annoying questions.
To have this feature on your Windows, you don’t need any 3rd party app. Right click on the Recycle Bin, and click on properties.
And uncheck ‘Display delete confirmation dialog.
Access the web from Windows Explorer
In Windows 8, if you want to search on the web, you aren’t even required to open the web browser; you can search for the things from the default explorer itself. This task can be performed in Windows 7 as well, but for that you will need to activate a not-so-popular feature called Federated Search.
There are a lot of combinations explained at the windows forum. You can choose the one you need, and follow the instructions accordingly. Link: http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/742-windows-7-federated-search-providers.html
Adding SkyDrive to Windows Explorer
In Windows 8, you will find SkyDrive, the cloud storage service integrated with the explorer. For having the same feature in Windows 7, you will have to install SkyDrive and configure it settings. Once done, you will be able to drag and drop any file you want to be uploaded on the cloud.
Enable Picture Passwords
Windows 8 has come up with lot of new cool feature; among them is this new innovative security option that lets you select a picture as your password, and then you can draw several geometrical shapes on it. Unfortunately, this feature is so innovative that Microsoft filed a patent over it. So now, no other 3rd-party app can perform the same operation. However, we do have another tool from Microsoft itself called Origami Experience 2.0 (http://www.softpedia.com/progDownload/Origami-Experience-Download-102016.html).
It has limited features,But still a good alternative. Although you can use this firefox extension called ObPwd (https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/obpwd-object-based-password-pa/) that accepts image as passwords.
Awesomeness!
This article is brilliant at so many levels. Too informative, I actually made a print of it!
I got my Windows 8 recently. I was lucky enough to get it for Rs. 600 as I had purchased a loptop recently.
