Facebook Killed Facebook Places and Facebook Deals

Facebook announced Facebook Places back in 2010, allowing you to check in using a Smartphone and let your Facebook friends know where you are. As you know Facebook this week announced the new Privacy options and today they announced the Shutdown of Facebook Places and Facebook Deals, But Don’t worry Facebook will be getting a new more location features very soon. The new Location service will not need you to use any Smartphone to share your location instead Facebook want you to share your location as part of your past and future as well. For that they got new location button in the sharing tool (this is hidden by default now) will be come in to play with in weeks.

Today Facebook also announced that they shutting down their service named Facebook deals.Facebook Deals that is only four months old.Related to the shutting down of Facebook deal services, Reuters got an e-mail statement from Facebook as follows.

 “After testing Deals for four months, we’ve decided to end our Deals product in the coming weeks,” a Facebook spokesperson said in a statement. “We think there is a lot of power in a social approach to driving people into local businesses. We remain committed to building products to help local businesses connect with people, like Ads, Pages, Sponsored Stories, and Check-in Deals. We’ve learned a lot from our test and we’ll continue to evaluate how to best serve local businesses.”

Facebook will be planning an update for some of the services next  week so keep an eye on your Facebook account and feel the new changes.
