Following UAE and Saudi Arabia, India planning to Ban Blackberry services
|Blackberry services getting banned in several countries now .UAE started and Saudi also banned Blackberry but made a mutual agreement with RIM to operate some services in the kingdom. Rumors are there from July 30th onwards that India also going to ban blackberry services .Some of the news agencies like Reuters reported that there are no any such plans for Indian Govt but reality is that Indian Govt is looking on this issue and official talks are going on. India is one of the world’s fastest growing cellular market.
Yesterday the Indian home ministry put a clear statement that BlackBerry phones will be banned in India if the company not providing the decryption solution to the government. Presently telecom providers including Airtel, Vodafone, Reliance, Tata and public providers like BSNL and MTNL run various blackberry services to users in India.
Indian home ministry still waiting for the decrypting solution for Blackberry enterprise emails and messenger from RIM- manufacture of blackberry phones. If the company is not providing it means these two services will be banned soon.
More than one million blackberry subscribers are there in Indian most of them will be upset with government decision they are hoping that, the issue will be sorted out soon.
This is bad news for all Blackberry users on the affected country. I hope blackberry is doing something about this. I have read from a recent news that the decryption error is caused by a bad OS that causes it not to work properly. They should have tested it before selling it to consumers. Anyways, great article here.. cheers!
