How to Remove The Sidebar Widgets In Windows Vista

The windows sidebar is the long vertical bar that displays on the side of your windows desktop. These sidebars got quipped with mini programs called gadgets. Microsoft introduced windows sidebar Widgets to offer information at a glance and provide easy access to frequently used tools.

With windows vista Microsoft came up with small collection of default gadgets for your desktop. Some of them start appearing on your windows vista desktop by default. Are using any gadgets on your windows desktop? In my view it’s not a necessary to add such gadgets on your windows desktop. The newer versions such as windows 7 and windows 8 developer preview version already removed the sidebar gadgets feature completely. Since October 2011 Microsoft shutdown the windows live gallery where we got a huge collection of sidebar gadgets for your Windows Vista and Windows 7.

Are you still on windows vista? Then it’s time to update your computer operating system or just follow below steps to remove the sidebar gadgets.

Step 1: Right click on the sidebar or the sidebar icon and select properties.

Step 2: Now, just uncheck the “Start Sidebar when Windows starts” option, as shown same as below.

Step 3: Right click on the sidebar icon and choose exit to close the window.

Now the sidebar gadgets on your windows operating system will be disabled. Just restart your windows computer to experience the changes.
