HTTPS Encryption Always ON For Gmail Users
|Google just enabled the mandatory HTTPS encryption for all it’s Gmail users. This new move will make communication over Gmail servers more secure and reliable and prevent breach into its security.
Nicolas Lidzborski, Gmail Security Engineering chief told in the statement,
“Your email is important to you, and making sure it stays safe and always available is important to us,”
“In addition, every single email message you send or receive—100 percent of them—is encrypted while moving internally. This ensures that your messages are safe not only when they move between you and Gmail’s servers, but also as they move between Google’s data centers—something we made a top priority after last summer’s revelations.”
Google already enabled HTTPS encryption for Gmail since 2010 but it was an option till yesterday. But from today on wards it will be mandatory for all mail users.
Gmail is one of the widely used email platform and Google always backs Gmail with latest technology, servers and services. In 2013 Gmail got interrupted less than two hours during the entire year, making 99.978% uptime.
Now there is one more reason to switch to Gmail from your outdated Email account, if you still not made it.
