As you all know storage space got it’s importance whether its images, music, videos or applications are stored. Most important things of your smart device are stored in the user memory.
Moto G second generation comes with a 8GB user memory partioned in to two parts. 4 GB of user memory is used for applications, pictures, videos, music and stuff like that & second 4 GB of system memory used for the operating system, carrier applications, pre-loaded media.

How to make SD card as Default Storage Location from Camera App
You can set the SD card as the default storage location for your pictures from the camera application. You can find this setting under the “Storage location” icon in the camera app settings. Please make note this setting will only appear when a SD card is present in the device.
Moving Media from Phone Memory to the SD card
If you inserted SD card for the first time,MOTO G will help you free internal storage by
offering to move pictures, movies and music stored internally to the SD card, through the Move Media application from MOTO G. Move media will only move content which is safe to move: pictures, movies and music. All the Items are moved from internal phone storage to the SD card, and are moved to the same location on the card.
Moving App from Phone Memory to the SD card
You can easily move any application from Phone memory to SD card. To do this just go to “settings” in your MOTO device then “ Apps” select the app which you want to move. It will open the App properties with a dailoge “Move To SD card ”. Clicking this dailogue will move the application from phone memory to SD card.

far too complicated. All I want is to find ut how much memory left on SD for photos
what does the storage location icon look like? I cannot see this. I have the memory card in and have moved photos and movies to the memory card, but new ones still keep saving to the cameras memory.
Samantha, you have to open the camera app, drag your finger to the right to bring up the settings ´wheel´ on the left, then rotate the icons until the SD card icon appears. Tap this, ´Storage Location´ appears, then tap SD card to make this the default location for your pictures.
I pulled out the “wheel”tapped the SD card icon so that it turns color. Now what ??? It does not keep the setting, and keeps saving to internal memory.
A lot of apps cannot be moved. They only operate if on internal memory.
Mine does not give me the option to move most apps to the SD card
I pulled out the “wheel”, tapped the SD card “Storage Collection” so that it turns Green. Now what ? It still saves photos to the internal drive.
I can’t move the app from phone memory to sd card memory. The moving method in this guide is different on my phone version.
